Ten students from Tokyo University og Marine Science and Technology visited REC during the first days of July, 2019. Accompanied by three professors from the same university, they spent five days at the centre learning about marine resources and industry in the region whereto Runde belongs. Site visits and a training session to treat oceanographic data from the “HAFAST” project at Breisundet in Storfjorden were arranged, lead by staff at REC. Before the stay at Runde, the group from Tokyo spent a week in Bergen where NIVA and UoBergen were hosts. Similar visits to REC are planned for the years to come, as part of the collaborative agreement between the university and REC.
